Cheryl Vergara was born and raised in Southern California, attended El Camino College, where she received a certification in the field of Early Childhood Education. She is a CDA and is synod certified by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
She has spent more than 40 years working in the field of early childhood education both in the classroom, as well as an administrator. She currently serves at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELS) in Manassas, Virginia as the Director, as well as a teacher at Little Stars of Bethlehem Early Learning Center.
She has been blessed by the constant love and support of her husband Robin, her four children, and eight grandchildren.
The development of "Cross Connections for early learners" was on her mind and in her heart for a very long time and she is grateful for the opportunity to share it with you, your students and their families.

Illustrator: Lori Ehlke
Lori Ehlke earned an Elementary Education and Spanish degree at Martin Luther College and studied Painting and Drawing in Florence, Italy.
She has been commissioned for murals, illustrations, portraits and other artwork starting at the age of 16. Lori has enjoyed being a part of artist groups wherever she has lived to learn and grow with other artists. Lori started her own business doing art parties for adults and children. Lori loves painting watercolor portraits and landscapes and is inspired by her four children and the places that she travels. She also just wrote and illustrated her first children's book and is hoping to publish a second. Lori and her husband Pastor Brett Ehlke have four children, two boys and twin girls, and live in Wisconsin.
